TATA STEEL MASTERS 2018 WIJK AAN ZEE – ROUND 7


Round 7 of the Tata Steel Masters was the most decisive of the tournament so far with 4 of the 7 games yielding results.

We had three players just a half a point behind Mamedyarov going into round 7. Of those, Anand lost to Kramnik, while So and Giri drew their game against each other. This allowed Mamedyarov to extend his lead to a full point by beating Wei. Besides Kramnik, Carlsen also won his game against Yifan allowing both players to catch Giri and So and form a group of four players in second place.

Tomorrow the top 4 in the tournament face each other with Giri vs Mamadyarov and Kramnik vs So.
